How to try Banana Boat Ride in Goa?

Yes, the Banana boat ride gives you such a pleasant experience which comprises an inflatable boat shaped like a banana where a maximum of five people can be seated at a single time. The banana-shaped board is then attached to a speed boat. The moment the speed boat sprints across the sea, the riders are thrown off the boat. While the riders are through the surf wearing life jackets, they start fresh by pulling themselves back onto the Banana boat.

The Banana boat ride is usually found on the famous beaches of Goa but one of the best Banana boat rides is provided in North Goa at Candolim, Baga, and Calangute beaches. Although the duration of the Banana boat ride is not too long. The age limit for this water ride is 12 years and above. The best time to enjoy this ride is from October to May.

If you are visiting Goa in the monsoon season which is from July to September, river rafting would be major fun. One needs to book a lot of time for rafting in advance. The time for rafting is from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and from 2:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. The starting cost of rafting in Goa is from 1850 rupees per person. Although if you want your photos and videos, you will be charged extra for the same. People above 12 years of age are only allowed for river rafting.

FLYBOARDING is an exciting and new water sport in Goa where one flies in the sky tied with a rope. This water sport is available throughout the year and is most popular in North Goa. The minimum age to try this water sport is 12 years.

JET LEV FLYER is a German invention that was recently added to water sports in Goa. It is quite similar to flyboarding where water is used as a jet to let you fly in the sky. It is recommended to try this sport if you know how to swim. This sport can only be performed with an instructor. The average duration of this sport is from 10 to 20 minutes. Being an expensive water sport, this is not preferred by many people as it costs around 4000 rupees per person. This water sport is usually found in Panjim in North Goa. The best time to enjoy this water sport is from October to May. The minimum age for this water sport is 15 years.


People suffering from breathing problems or old age people are not recommended to try water sports. Although you can go for a bumper boat ride, the speed boat ride is a fun and safe water sport. September to April is considered the best time for water sports in Goa. It is preferred to wear light clothes and not go for flip flops as you might easily lose them in water. Do ensure that carrying a towel and an extra piece of cloth set as you close might get wet while trying water activities. It is recommended not to wear any valuable stuff like gold, diamond, or any other precious jewels as there is a high probability of losing them. Carrying stuff like sunglasses, and sunscreen is recommended as there is a high probability of getting tanned at the beach side.
